The purpose of the Artist in the Classroom Program, sponsored by the Salt Spring Arts Council, is to give the arts a stronger prencce in the everyday lives of students and create awareness of the arts in our community.  We've recently had two artists in the classroom!

Melissa Hingston and Andrew McPhee's classes participated in a Lantern Making Workshop with Wendi Gilson.
Wendi is known on Salt Spring for two annual community lantern processions: Tales from Beyond the Veil and A Wild Wood walk where she worked with community members to make lanterns and create a celebration.

Dancer, Robbyn Scott, brought her love of dance to students in Malindi Curtis and Linda Burgess's classes twice in the last two weeks! Loads of fun was had with imaginative images interlaced with dance technique.
