Dear Parents,

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school and we are thrilled to offer this literary event to our students. We invite the entire community to participate by purchasing the latest and greatest in children’s books. Did you know that for every $10 you spend at the Book Fair, up to $6 in product goes directly back to our school? Your support of this event is key to our obtaining new resources for our library and school. You will find hundreds of quality children’s books at our Book Fair with a wide assortment of titles for all reading levels. As a result of last year's Book Fair over 200 books were given to the school from Teachers wish lists and the Library wish list. Your participation in the Book Fair makes a difference! 

 Guidelines:

• Monday: The children may come through the library with their Teacher to look at the books and create a wish list. The wish list will go home for parents to review.  At the Monday Whole School Meeting we will explain to students that creating a wish list does not mean that the books will necessarily be purchased.
• Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: If you would like to purchase any of the wishlist books, please come in person or send cash or cheque made out to Fernwood Elementary School, along with your child.  Please talk to your child about the responsibilities that come with carrying cash to school. 

Parents are encouraged to stop in anytime and browse through the book selection – lots of great ideas for Christmas!  Our Book Fair accepts cash, salt spring dollars, cheques and credit cards.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO RUN THIS EVENT. AN EMAIL WAS SENT WITH A SCHEDULE BUT WE ARE FLEXIBLE AND APPRECIATE ANY TIME YOU CAN VOLUNTEER EVEN IF YOU DROP IN.  THANK YOU TO OUR PARENT FAIR "CHAIRPERSON" FOR THE MANY HOURS SHE HAS CONTRIBUTED...ALYSON PILON.
