Christmas Concert Important Update!

The Fernwood Christmas Concert is less than two weeks away!  Raffle tickets will be going home either Wednesday or Thursday.  Lots of amazing raffle prizes…so let’s get selling!

The PAC board outside of the office will highlight all the prizes to get kids excited and we’ll be sending home an outline of all the prizes with the raffle tickets.

Thank you to Fernwood parents and Salt Spring merchants for being so generous!

We will need 5 volunteers on Friday, December 9 to set up the gym from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Please email me at croehlig@shaw.ca if you’re able to come and help. We really need your help!

Here’s a note from Cali on the Bake Sale (thank you for organizing):

Hi Everyone.  I'm looking for 4-5 volunteers (stay with me) to help flog cookies and yummy treats at our Christmas concert this year.  If you can count and are not deathly ill, congratulations, you have the right credentials. Call us, or just show up. (You'll be there anyway and it's 20 min of fun). 

We are asking ALL parents - (you too dads) to whip up your favorite baking concoction in the kitchen/ or pretend to, so we can flog them and support some extracurricular activities for our kids. Last year we made almost $500!   AND/OR Save yourself the hassle and buy a plate of deliciousness to bring to work or your Christmas party.  A gift that says, "I stayed up all night baking these little beauties" when in reality you only had to enjoy the concert. 

IT'S OKAY TO BRING BAKED GOODS TO SCHOOL THE DAY BEFORE BECAUSE WE HAVE TWO REFRIGERATORS OR DURING THE DAY OF THE CONCERT, ALL THE WAY UP TO WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT SCHOOL FOR THE CONCERT.

RRRR Gift Program

Just a reminder that the RRRR Gift Program will be held on December 13 and 14^th.   We are looking for the following volunteers to assist with facilitating this popular (and important) holiday event for the kids:

December 12:  5 parent to set up (location: TBD) from 1:30 to 3:30

December 13:  6 parents to aide kids/wrap presents from 9:00 to 12 p.m.

December 13:  6 parents to aide kids/wrap presents from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

December 14:  6 parents to aide kids/wrap presents from 9:00 to 12 p.m.

December 14:  6 parents to aide kids/wrap presents from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

If you can please email me at croehlig@shaw.ca with the time slot you’re able to volunteer, that would be great!  There’s no way we can do this event without the contributions from parents and volunteers to help kids and wrap so thanks, thanks, thanks!

Don't forget to bring in your contributions to your classroom Christmas Baskets!!!
