Dear Fernwood Families,

First I want to apologize for sending so many emails!  But, we do feel it is vital to provide as much up-to-date information to you and our school community as we can, and email is really the best way to keep this information flowing, in both directions.

The teachers have been working on literacy this week and are already coming into the school to get things ready for your return.  The new playground is almost finished, and it is sparkling beautifully in the sunshine!  Mr. McPhee has made some upgrades to the garden and this will provide more learning spaces for us outdoors this year.

For those of you who may not be quite ready to return, I mentioned on a previous email that our District has been working closely with the Ministry to ensure we can offer a learning option for those families that have health concerns or other obstacles that may impact in-class school attendance this September.

The Remote Learning Flexible Return option is a temporary measure put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students choosing this option will be able to re-enter in-class learning at the end of each Quarter during the school year. (Nov 17, Feb 3, April 26)

We have posted the District's Remote Learning Flexible Return information on the district website and I have also attached the information to this email.

If this is an option that you think you might need, please contact me directly - klogan@sd64.org or call 250-537-9332.  Thank you for your patience in these ever-evolving times!!

Sincerely,

Kelda Logan
