Families Understanding Early Learning (FUEL)

School District 64 is partnering with Fernwood Elementary and Salt Spring Literacy to provide a series of workshops for parents of children Kindergarten to grade 2.  The title of this 5 part series is Families Understanding Early Learning.  FUEL will include a variety of speakers and topics, including the importance of movement in brain development, social emotional development, sexual health education, and how to support your child with early literacy and math skills.  Presenters will include Robin Andison, Janet Hoag, Kathryn Akehurst, Stella Weinert, Jenny Redpath, Tiffany Wightman, and Judith Bradley, physiotherapist.  

Each session will include a light dinner and child care provided in the ELF room by an Early Childhood Educator.  This free program will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 -7:00, with dinner at 5:00 in the ELF room and sessions for adults starting at 5:30 in the library.  The dates are February 16 and 23, and March 1, 8, and 15th.
