Free Workshop for Parents Tuesdays 5-7 pm

There is still room in this course that starts next Tuesday, February 15th...dinner and childcare provided. Presenters will include Robin Andison, former School District 64 Teacher,  Janet Hoag & Kathryn Akehurst (Early Learning), Stella Weinert (Literacy Outreach Coordinator & former SD64 Teacher), Jenny Redpath (Public Health Nurse), Tiffany Wightman (School District Counsellor/Numeracy&Literacy support)), and Judith Bradley (physiotherapist). 

School District 64 is partnering with Fernwood Elementary and Salt Spring Literacy to provide a series of workshops for parents of children Kindergarten to grade 2.  The title of this 5 part series is Families Understanding Early Learning.  FUEL will include a variety of speakers and topics, including the importance of movement in brain development, social emotional development, sexual health education, and how to support your child with early literacy and math skills.  

Each session will include a light dinner and child care provided in the ELF room by an Early Childhood Educator.  This free program will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 -7:00, with dinner at 5:00 in the ELF room and sessions for adults starting at 5:30 in the library.  The dates are February 16 and 23, and March 1, 8, and 15th.
