Message from Kara MacKay, Recreation Program Assistant for SSI Parks & Recreation (any questions please call her at 537-4448):

Our most exciting news is that we are offering our Friday Adventure Camp every Friday school is not in session. It will run out of the Salt Spring Elementary School Gym with a few exceptions in November when it will be held in the Portlock Park Portable Classroom. Drop off is 8:30-9am and pick up is between 3:15-3:30pm. The children will participate in different games, crafts and outdoor activities that relate to that week’s theme. They will also enjoy an hour of swimming at the Rainbow Road Indoor Pool. The cost of this program is $34/day.

Pre-registration is necessary, call the CRD/PARC office to register, 250-537-4448.

Our other programs for kids include: Ball hockey, Zumba for kids, Babysitting Safety, Home Alone (Redcross People Savers) and Jewelry making classes – Beaded bracelets, wire wrapped pendants, feather and beaded earrings.

Be sure to register early so you get a spot in these classes and so we know we have enough participants to run the classes!
