Students in Grade 4 will be completing the Foundation Skills Assessments during over the next few weeks. The Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is a set of reading, writing and numeracy tests administered each winter to BC students in grades 4 and 7. FSA provides a “snapshot” of how well BC students are attaining the foundation skills of reading, writing and numeracy.
You can help your child prepare for the assessments by encouraging him/her to their best and by ensuring he/she is at school by 8:30 a.m. at the latest during the assessment period. Practice tests can be found here: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/administration/kindergarten-to-grade-12/assessment/foundation-skills-assessment/fsa-samples
Parents are encouraged to visit the website for more information regarding FSA, including sample assessments. Please click on this link: FSAs.
If you have any questions regarding the FSAs, please contact Shannon Johnston at sjohnston@sd64.org or by phoning the school at 250-537-9332 |
