Grade 3 students gathered together to listen to a presentation from Salt Spring Search and Rescue. The educational program is called Hug-a-Tree and teaches children about survival and safety. One example that your child may ask about at home is "stepping" on a sheet of tin foil to leave a footprint behind or shoe print that parents could have if ever needed to identify footsteps in a forest in case they got lost.
