Dear Fernwood Families,

Thank you to all of you who communicated through the survey about your decision re: the voluntary return to school in June.  

Our school, maintenance department, and transportation personnel will be working hard to build a schedule that attends to our cleaning protocols, transportation, and staffing needs.

Please understand that this is a complex and challenging schedule to determine.  It is unlikely that all schools on Salt Spring Island will have the same schedule as we attend to the items mentioned above.

I will be communicating with you early next week a detailed schedule and transportation times.  

Attached is the guidance we have been given from the BC Ministry of Health for K - 12 settings, which may help you understand the thoughtful way that the school setting will be managed and that will guide our decision making.

I am so very excited to see many of you in person in June, and appreciate your patience while we work out the details.
