Parents as Literacy Support (PALS)

Salt Spring Literacy  and School District 64 are offering a free, information-packed mini-course for parents/caregivers wishing to support their children’s learning. Eight sessions, taught by a team of very experienced teachers, will look at topics such as brain-based learning, the importance of stories,songs, and play, early reading, early math, etc.,  focussing on children 4-5 years old. Sessions will run from 5-7 pm on 8 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 19th.(not including Spring Break).   Children attend with their parents/caregivers and spend the evening with an Early Childhood Educator and have opportunities to  try out activities with their parent.  A light dinner is provided.
