Salt Spring Search and Rescue are putting on a program for Grade 1 and 3 students.  The educational program is called Hug-a-Tree and teaches children about survival and safety. If a child should become lost in the woods, hugging a tree can help them stay safe, warm and be found. While designed for the outdoors, hug-a-tree rules can be transferable to other places including sporting events, parks and urban areas.  On May 13th, students who are in Grade 1 and 3 will participate in a short 40 minute presentation and may like to show you about what they have learned!
