Shelter in Place Drill

posted Mar 7, 2019, 1:40 PM by Leah Ashford

On Wednesday, March 6th at 11:20 am we practiced a 'Shelter in Place' drill. This is different from a lock down~ rather it would take place if there is a known danger outside that is not a direct threat to the children.  Students and staff practiced staying inside the building and continuing as normal until informed it would safe to go outside. A shelter in place drill is one of the drills that are regularly practiced at Fernwood in addition to other emergency drills such as our Earthquake Drills and Fire Drills.  We will be practicing a lock down drill in April.
