Grade K, 1, and 3 students gathered together to listen to a presentation from Salt Spring Search and Rescue.  The educational program is called Hug-a-Tree and teaches children about survival and safety. If a child should become lost in the woods, hugging a tree can help them stay safe, warm and be found. While designed for the outdoors, hug-a-tree rules can be transferable to other places including sporting events, parks and urban areas.
