Early Years:

Brain Gym for Parents and Tots 9mths-5yrs

This movement based program will familiarize participants with the 26 Brain Gym movements naturally done during the first years of life when coordinating eyes, ears, hands and the body. These simple yet effective movements of applied learning improve concentration, memory, academics and attitude. Bring your children and explore how you can reach new levels of development and performance.

Mini-Sport Spring Break Camp 3-5 yrs

Children participate in the skills and games of five different sports. Daily activities will also include art, music, stories and snack time.

M-Th 9:00am-12:00pm Mar 26-Mar 29 $72/Week

Location: Salt Spring Elementary School Gymnasium

 

 

School Age:

Mt. Washington Ski Trip 7yrs+

Take a trip up the mountain this winter! Whether you ski or board, are experienced or beginner, this trip is for you. Participants will meet at the Vesuvius Ferry terminal at 6:45am where they will walk on the ferry and take a bus from Crofton to the Mountain.

Participants will return on the 7:40pm Crofton Ferry. Fee includes lift ticket and transportation. Equipment rental is optional ($41.50).

$156/Adult, $138/Youth(13-18yrs), $116/Child(7-12yrs)

Friday Adventure Camp 5 yrs-12 yrs

This action packed camp will introduce you to different games, creative arts, community sports, expeditions, trips to the library and swimming at the pool. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather, swimsuit and towel, snacks, lunch and water bottle.

StoryWalk®

StoryWalk is an exciting program designed to bring literacy and the outdoors together for both children and adults to enjoy. Follow the story from the Library, through Mouat Park, to the Rainbow Road Aquatic Centre. School groups and daycares are welcome. T he StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. T his self-led program is brought to you by Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation and the Salt Spring Island Public Library.

Babysitter Training 11-15 yrs

This course is designed for youth who want to become a certified babysitter. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviors to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. There is also a large component on first aid training.

Kid’s Table 10-14 yrs

Farm, cook, eat! This camp will focus on cooking, and learning about food from around the world and where our food comes from. In the kitchen, both fundamental and cultural recipes will be taught along with food handling and safety, knife skills and healthy eating practices.

M/F 10:00am-3:30pm Mar 19-Mar 23 $180/Week

Location: Salt Spring Middle School Home Ec Room
